PTFE U-packings made by Freudenberg Process Seals are used as unidirectional sealing elements with a U-shaped cross-section and a reinforcing metal spring to reliably seal rotating or translational movements.
Our PTFE U-packings are used in many engineering processes - from ball valves to piston pumps. Also ideal for the sealing of pressures, as the system pressure intensifies the sealing effect of this design and also in aggressive media thanks to high media stability of the PTFE material.
PTFE U-packings are fitted with a metal spring which balances out the prestress loss affected by the creep tendency of the PTFE. The contact pressure can be adjusted to the individual requirements by using U, V or O-shaped springs. To seal off translational and rotating movements, Freudenberg Process Seals offers PTFE U-packings in an axially or radially effective design, the latter optionally as an internally or externally effective version.
