Clean solutions in accordance with Hygienic Design

When developing hygienic sealing solutions without any dead space, Freudenberg Process Seals leaves nothing to chance

A system constructed according to Hygienic Design is easy to clean thoroughly. The more automated processes CIP and SIP (Cleaning in place/Sterilization in place) spread, the less systems are being taken apart. This means the option of visual control is no longer available, yet the requirements of hygienic sealing solutions are increasing. In cooperation with you, Freudenberg Process Seals is developing seals with no dead space, in which no product residue can collect and microorganisms can settle. Here, attention needs to be paid to ensuring hygienically designed grooves are tighter and space for sealing materials to give is correspondingly tight. Freudenberg Process Seals has got O-rings according to DIN 11864 in their product range as the standard seal for aseptic clamp connections.

A good example for these demanding requirements is dynamic seals. Dead space plays a critical role here as well. Because conventional shaft sealing rings are very difficult to clean, Freudenberg Process Seals has introduced onto the market an easy-to-clean sealing component for the processing industry in the shape of the Simmerring® design Radiamatic® HTS II 9539 with no dead space and with a protruding lip seal made of PTFE.
