Apart from other exacting factors, hygiene and cleanliness in production plants are important parameters in beer production. Freudenberg Process Seals has developed sealing materials for this that will withstand the extreme cleaning processes and salt deposits (beer scale) as well as the high CO2 content in beer. Primarily, cleaning is done with up to 3% acid at 80 °C to remove the salt deposits from the pipe system.
In addition to that, high temperatures prevail during production and cleaning (steam sterilization). These put additional pressure on the durability of the seal, as do the gyle with their abrasive effect on the material - an effect that needs to be combated with stable material solutions. For these reasons, sealing materials used by Freudenberg Process Seals are the ideal choice in brewery processes.
