PTFE bellows

PTFE bellows

With bellows made by Freudenberg Process Seals, you effectively protect moving machine parts from all external influences.

Anywhere that there are mechanical machine parts that slide into each other and need protecting against environmental influences or aggressive media, bellows made by Freudenberg Process Seals are the right choice. In addition to that, movement, expansion, but also offset, misalignments or vibrations can be compensated for. In connection with non-return valves and depending on the construction, feed and pumping effects on gases or liquids are also possible through volume changes in the bellow.

A summary of the advantages

  • high stability against almost all chemicals
  • reliable protection against media contamination
  • high cost-effectiveness through machining manufacture
  • special designs, single-piece work and small series possible
  • quick availability of expansion joint bellows in standard sizes of DN 10 – DN 500 from stock
  • innovative material combinations for heavy duty stresses and for reliable attachment
  • Provides axial and to some extent radial movable protective function for piston rods, joints and other machine parts
  • Compensation for movement and shifts between two connecting parts
  • Conveyance function of gases and liquids through volume change
  • Standardized smallest internal diameter 10 mm (smaller on request)
  • Largest external diameter theoretically unlimited. Please contact Freudenberg Process Seals.

The range of applications of bellows is extremely wide, depending on the type of material used:

Virginal PTFE:
wide range of applications in the chemical industry

Modified PTFE:
Low porosity design for the food and pharmaceutical industry

Conductive PTFE:
Used against static charging

Filled PTFE:
Thoose parts of the bellows under the most stress are reinforced with fiberglass or carbon fibers, e.g. where the bellows are mounted on a pump head.
