The wide range of liquids and gases which are handled in the processing industry using loading arms, require a wide range of sealing solutions that retain their sealing function, even under extreme conditions.
Loading arms are used to transfer liquids and gases from stationary tanks into mobile containers, such as tank wagons on the railway, road tankers or into tanks on ships. As a movable connection during loading, they are fitted with several swivel joints that need to be securely sealed.
As loading arms are used to transfer not only aggressive media, such as concentrated acids and alkali solutions, but also gases, the pipes and seals need to be as universally stable against media as possible. And that's not all: Especially when handling LNG, liquefied natural gas at -165°C, the greatest expectations are made of our seals with regards to their stability at extremely low temperatures.
